But...well, there's a stereotype of surgeons for a reason.
I remember working with him in clinic one day and there was this crying woman he was seeing for the first time. The woman thought she had cancer. It was obvious to this doctor she did NOT have cancer. He never said those words out loud. As gets up to leave, mildly annoyed the woman had been referred to his clinic for obvious osteoporosis, the woman sobs, "Am I dying??"
The doc responds, "We are all dying, just at different rates." He pats her leg and walks out.

(I walked back in and let her know she had osteoporosis).
