EDIT: Holy SHIT look at this awesome Colbey drawn by Varethane (in the news area)!
It has been an incredibly rough few days for me folks. My precious dog I've had since he was a puppy, now 11 years old, was recently diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma. Incurable. Not going to operate. Definitely no chemo. THAT was a vet visit I don't want to relive. Thank goodness for 24 hour emergency vets though, seriously. Without that IV he'd likely be a goner. If you ever come home, late on a Sunday night, to find a dog with cold extremities, pale gums, and lethargy--take your animal to vet right away. It's serious. Really really serious.
So I am focused on making Indy's remaining days as awesome as possible. He is an old dog, and he has lived a glorious life of which any canine would be jealous. Doesn't mean I'm not tearing up every 30 seconds over here though. We don't know how much longer he'll last, it could be days, it could be months.
I write this as I sit in a lawn chair on the porch, enjoying the global warming that has brought summer temperatures to central NY in late October, as my pup sleeps by my side. It's the good life. Sorry you guys out in the south and midwest. You might be getting screwed by this climate change, but up in NY we are rocking it.
Well, new readers finding me from comic of the week, sorry for the downer.
