I've been remiss these past weeks, not participating in the SpiderForest Comics of the Week! I've missed two, but in the interest of maximizing the spotlight effect on this week's comic, I'm going to go back in the coming weeks for the comics I missed. THIS week's comic is Kyoudaikido Soldier Chromacorps, a 3x weekly strip comic about 5 modern-day martial artists fighting bad guys, a la the Power Rangers tradition. Taka, the guy who makes it, is also a local friend of mine. Go support his comic!
In other news, I was dragged out to see X-men: First Class over the weekend. After the past 3 installments I wasn't really interested in more X-men, but DAMN was this movie a pleasant surprise. The change up of actors really helped, it was a much less angsty tale (though certainly had its share of angst with Magneto's back story), and lots of laughs. It was thoroughly ridiculous, but hey, it's based off a comic book, whaddaya want? I guess the only thing that bothered me was that the story was supposed to take place in the 60's...and yeah...whatever. Still, a great time. My cousin and I both enjoyed how they wrapped the Cuban Missile Crisis up in the storyline, that was pretty cool.
Also, the Sexify Colbey campaign has $10 owed to it, I have yet to update it in case donators were wondering.
Ah oh! The Nick Cage game, what a success! I hadn't even HEARD of some of those movies. ...Now I know which never to watch (OH SNAP.)
