What does this mean? The $200 goal means I update the comic MWF for THREE weeks out of the month, and WF for the last weekish. Wednesday/Friday is the usual schedule. Every Monday update is Patreon funded. It ALSO means, we bank more toward the eventual publishing of this comic in print, and as soon as I'm close to wrapping it up (I anticipate April/May 2016), I will be running a kickstarter! ALL funds made through Patreon are saved for this purpose. I anticipate needing to raise around 7k USD in total for the campaign (printing a 500+ page soft cover book is costly), so the more I bank, the less I need to raise at the end. It ALSO means, I get paid about $20/page! Which was my goal. That we reached. Yay!
I'm going to use this as an opportunity to remind any Patrons backing at $5 who have NOT gotten their portrait to PLEASE SEND ME A REFERENCE PICTURE or change your backing to "no reward" if you never wanted a portrait in the first place. <3 Warofwinds@gmail.com
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: for reaching this goal, I'd like to do something nice for all my patrons (current OR past)! If you want me to mail you a post card this holiday season, please send me your address ( warofwinds@gmail.com) and a link to your Patreon profile page so I know it's you. I will include a drawing on the post card. I will periodically put out a reminder for those who may miss this notice.
Past but still relevant news: What it Takes received a review from Pretty Cool Webcomics, check it out! If you've got a tumblr, I'd also really appreciate a reblog.
SpiderForest is welcoming a new group of comics again this week. Be sure to check them out!
Retroblade: Shards of an ancient weapon have the power to change the fate of a dying world. Also, this dude needs jam. Time travel!Again, the above is my personal impression of each comic. But no matter what, I recommend them all!The Demon Archives: Minerva. Y'all better know this one--fans of What it Takes will enjoy Tenzin and his teenage AI "Jane" kicking ass. Ok, well, mostly getting their asses kicked. But I think payback on the way?
The Ferrin: A young researcher visits a protected alien world to study the Ferrin, an intelligent species of animal. Traffickers attack, and to protect the Ferrin, Elanor must survive in the wild, forbidden reaches of the planet.
PS--thank you, generous Patrons for another month of funding!
