Arc 2 - Damsel in Distress - Page 12
May 18, 2010

EDIT: I would personally like to thank new reader BoreD (how very cute) for being so nice as to tell me exactly how unimpressed he was with a strip that I do for fun. Because everyone who has fun making comics just LOVES to have buzzkills come along and leave [multiple] snide little comments on their work that, hey--is free! So, BoreD, if you don't like it, shut the fuck up and look elsewhere. Thanks.

No, I'm not one of those artists who puts up with dicks commenting about what they don't like. I didn't put up with it in High School, or in college, and I sure as hell won't put up with it now. Anyone reading this, if you have criticism, post it. More than likely, I'll agree with you, and if I don't, then I don't. If you don't like anything about the story, then why the hell are you here? Oh yeah, because you're a dick.

Original news post: And today we have our second Redshirt, James Roden of fellow SpiderForest comic and science-fiction epic, Requiem! Because in his picture he seemed such a nice fellow, I've attempted to add some facial scars to make him look meaner. Did it work? Leaning toward no. D:

And as for the "taking a crap" a world without working plumbing...I'm would guess any bush would do when the need arises. 0.0 Just don't ask about toilet paper? LEFT HAND AND A BOWL OF WATER.

Anyway, wow these guys are going fast. Volunteer YOUR mortality and join the What it Takes Redshirt squad in the forum. I'll be adding a cast section for Redshirts shortly.

I've also been completely lax about the SpiderForest comic of the week! The final comic for this go-round was the gal in charge of it all, Tiana of Between Places! I think she had her hands full with horrible participants like myself. Between Places is a dreamy and dark fantasy story that crosses worlds and dreamscapes--and the places in-between.

In my world, life has been buuuusssssy. I'm retaking the MCAT the third week of June, and just received a jury summons for the second week of June. I'm all for civic duty, but why does it always have to be at such a damned inconvenient time?! I will also be going camping this weekend, so comics will be late. Since you are guaranteed five extra comics (for the 5 mondays in May), even if it's late, those comics will still get up. More than likely, WiT will update Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. You've been forewarned.

In other news, those of you who are waiting on commissions, they're slowly getting done! I apologize for the wait. All of these extra comics this month have really done a number on my free time. Before I offer extra updates again, I'm going to have to get done with those already on the list. WiT will probably be 2x weekly come June, but purchases can be made toward extra pages in July starting next month.

I've also discovered (I seem to be a bit slow about this stuff) that with my new dual monitor set up, I can stream my shows on Hulu and draw at the same time. I am now caught up on Psych, NCIS, Bones, and Dr. Who. The newest Doctor is starting to grow on me. David Tennant will always have a special place in my heart. I think Amy has replaced Rose as my favorite companion though!

My geek is rearing its ugly head again. Ahem. More violence on Friday! Be sure to check back, eh?
