Edible vaccines? Guys, I do not make this shit up. Haha, but isn't that amazing? It makes so much sense too. But as for the in silico thing, what Peter is supposed to have done is WAY beyond what researchers are currently doing. What he did was make a computerized version of a plant cell. Plug in the genome, program the proteins, the cascades, the chaperones, change something and see what happens. While technology close that is being used to determine downstream effects of cascades, it's still pretty far out. At least, last I checked. But programming plants to produce vaccines that transfer mucosal immunity? That's happening today.
I worked a few labs down from a lab engineering potato vaccines! Which was where I first heard about all this.
Anyway, a few of you guessed this is what Peter was working on, nice detective work! Or, you know, voting and being in the forum and stuff.
I want you all to know I almost drew a picture of Colbey doing unmentionables to a red cucumber. But I did not. Because I would be laughing too hard to draw it. And by unmentionables I don't mean THAT. Get your minds out of the gutter (and mine with it).
Lastly, PLEASE check out the next update for a special little extra! Thanks for reading!
